L\u2019illusionismo \u00e8 impiegato da secoli come strumento artistico secondo regole di grande interesse psicologico. I trucchi magici funzionano fondamentalmente perch\u00e9 gli aspetti cognitivi ed emotivi sono suscettibili di manipolazione. La realt\u00e0 non \u00e8 vissuta infatti dagli individui come tale ma \u00e8 il risultato di un\u2019attivit\u00e0 di costruzione svolta attivamente nel cervello. L\u2019arte della magia \u00e8 basata sull\u2019azione su propriet\u00e0 intrinseche della mente e i prestigiatori \u2013 come i truffatori e i bari \u2013 sono di fatto degli esperti di scienze cognitive che sanno manipolare abilmente la percezione della realt\u00e0.
\nLa prestidigitazione ha origine come disciplina segreta che richiede un apprendimento complesso e anche oggi, nonostante una sua recente volgarizzazione attraverso internet, padroneggiare quest\u2019arte non consiste tanto o soltanto nel conoscerne i trucchi ma richiede costanza nello studio, curiosit\u00e0 nella sperimentazione e particolari modalit\u00e0 di pensiero.
\nL\u2019illusione ha le sue regole di funzionamento in parte singolari e che dipendono dalla storia del singolo individuo, in parte condivise da tutti gli esseri umani. Gi\u00e0 alla fine dell\u2019Ottocento vari studiosi si erano occupati dello studio scientifico degli aspetti psicologici della prestidigitazione, coinvolgendo in vari casi famosi illusionisti dell\u2019epoca. Nell\u2019ultimo decennio le neuroscienze si sono interessate a studiare i meccanismi mentali coinvolti nella magia con l\u2019obiettivo di identificare meccanismi psicologici sconosciuti grazie agli esperimenti spontanei offerti da magia e illusionismo.
\nIn questo testo sono illustrati i fondamenti psicologici dell\u2019illusionismo ed i possibili contributi che lo studio di essi pu\u00f2 offrire alle neuroscienze. Il tema dell\u2019illusione \u00e8 analizzato anche all\u2019interno dell\u2019evoluzione del paradigma epistemologico in cui \u00e8 compresa la relazione tra psicoterapeuta e paziente.<\/p>\n

Illusionism has been used for centuries as an artistic instrument according to laws of great psychological interest. Primarily, magic tricks work because cognitive and emotional aspects are susceptible to manipulation. In fact, reality is not experienced by individuals as such, but is the result of the construction actively conducted by the brain. The art of magic is based on the action of the intrinsic properties of the mind and that of magicians \u2013 like crooks and cheaters \u2013 they are in fact experts in cognitive science that are able to cleverly manipulate the perception of reality.
\nPrestidigitation originated as a secret discipline requiring complex learning so much so that even today, despite recent vulgarization through the internet, mastering this art is not so much as knowing the tricks but the perseverance in their studies, curiosity in experimentation of mind and the particular way of thought. Illusion has its own laws regarding function it is exceptional and unique, depending on the background of the individual which in part is shared by other people. Towards the end of the nineteenth century many scholars were occupied in scientific studies of the psychological aspects of prestidigitation, in various cases involving famous magicians of that time. In the last decade neurosciences have been interested in studying the mental mechanisms involved in magic with the aim of identifying unknown psychological mechanisms thanks to spontaneous experiments offered by magic and illusionism. This text illustrates the basic elements of psychology that is linked with illusionism so as to try and understand the potential contribution it can offer to neuroscience.
