«REATTACH» UNA NUOVA «SCHEMA THERAPY» PER ADULTI E BAMBINI? PARTE II: BAMBINI

Oggetto: ReAttach è un nuovo intervento che ha mostrato di essere un trattamento efficace per gli adulti con modelli maladattivi di gestione delle emozioni. I modelli di funzionamento maladattivo hanno origine nella fanciullezza (Bowlby 1969/1997). Per sviluppare un intervento efficace per il bambino e la famiglia è importante fare oggetto del trattamento sia il genitore sia il bambino in modo da poter lavorare su entrambi i lati della relazione genitore/bambino. Un primo obiettivo era quello di esaminare l’effetto di cinque sedute di ReAttach sul comportamento di bambini con un’ampia gamma di disturbi psicologici. Un secondo obiettivo consisteva nel misurare la trasferibilità del metodo e quindi di verificare l’integrità e la completezza dei trattamenti eseguiti dai professionisti in addestramento. Metodo: Una coorte di 21 terapeuti è stata addestrata a eseguire il trattamento di ReAttach con un gruppo di bambini (n=83). Il comportamento di questi bambini è stato valutato con la Children Behavior Checklist (CBCL), prima e dopo cinque sedute di terapia ReAttach. Risultati e conclusioni: I dati riportati in questa sede danno sostegno all’ipotesi che il ReAttach sia un attraente trattamento sperimentale per bambini con disturbi psicologici. Benché questi terapeuti fossero relativamente inesperti, si è potuta constatare una significativa riduzione di tutti i punteggi (sub) clinici valutati con la CBCL.[:en]Objective: ReAttach is a new intervention that has shown to be an effective treatment for maladaptive emotional patterns of adults. Maladaptive functioning already starts in childhood (Bowlby 1969/1997). In order to develop an effective child and family intervention, it is important to incorporate both the parent and child and work on both sides of the parent/child relationship.: to examine the effect of five sessions ReAttach on the behavior of children with a variety of psychological complaints. A second objective was to measure the transferability of the method and perform treatment integrity check for the professionals in training. Method: A cohort of 21 therapists was trained to perform ReAttach with a group of children (n=83). The behavior of this group of children was assessed with the Children Behavior Checklist (CBCL), before and after five ReAttach therapy sessions. Results and Conclusions: the data reported here supports the hypothesis that ReAttach may be an attractive experimental treatment for children with psychological complaints. Although these therapists were newly trained, and therefore relatively inexperienced, a significant reduction of all (sub)clinical scores on the CBCL was found.
